Witkiem Manita is a fairly fast growing Broad Bean that has fairly early large pods that average about 5 beans per pod. The\u00a0beans\u00a0are a nice mid green colour and especially when picked early have a really nice flavour that almost has no typical Broad Bean back taste. They age to a pale green\/cream colour when mature. The pods tend to be quite wide and fill out quite quickly but can sometimes have a few empty spots at the beginning of the season while the beans inside fill out – so it;s best to leave them to develop for a time.\u00a0The plants are strong growers and are usually around 1-1.5m high and with about 3-4 stems per plant They have a fairly strong growth habit that resists being tipped over by wind etc. All up it is a very worthwhile variety\u00a0to grow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
