{"id":1755,"date":"2013-06-02T06:21:36","date_gmt":"2013-06-02T06:21:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chickenfish.cc\/bio\/?p=1755"},"modified":"2013-06-02T06:22:49","modified_gmt":"2013-06-02T06:22:49","slug":"huauzontle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chickenfish.cc\/bio\/huauzontle\/","title":{"rendered":"Huauzontle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Huauzontle &#8211; Chenopodium nuttalliae &#8211; is an interesting vegetable of Mexican origin\u00a0that is closely related to Quinoa &#8211; but with this plant it&#8217;s the flower bud cluster that is eaten instead &#8211; basically like a broccoli.\u00a0It is a pretty hardy plant that likes a lot of sun and heat in the main spring &#8211; summer growing season.<\/p>\n<p>It is usually eaten as a vegetable green like spinach &#8211; or more interestingly dipped in a light batter and very quickly deep fried.
